2.2.3 The customer is responsible for checking the accuracy of the information of the bet placed by him/her. Once the bet is placed, and confirmed it may not be changed or cancelled, except in specific cases indicated in this document.

2.2.4 YP shall not be responsible for lost tickets, or valid tickets previously claimed in an illegal manner.

2.3.1 YP is not responsible for the accuracy of the information provided by the live events update service, as it is obtained from third party sources.

2.3.2 YP makes every effort to make sure the information regarding the live events update service (the score, the time of the match, and information regarding team and player statistics) is accurate. This service is provided for information purposes only. YP is not responsible for the accuracy of such data.

2.3.3 YP is not responsible for inaccurate translation of team or player names, translated from foreign languages.

2.3.4 If there are two players with the same name in the same tournament, and it was not indicated unambiguously which athlete is being selected, all bets will be considered void, and the original stake will be returned to the customer.

2.3.5 If the name of the tournament, a player’s name, a player’s position, or other information regarding the wager are found, by YP, to be indicated incorrectly eg: the wrong team or player is indicated (excluding translation errors), all bets on such an event are considered void and the original stake will be returned to the customer.

2.3.6 In the case of missing information, which leads to confusion and the following data is not specified, (age group, sex, team status) all bets placed on such a match will be considered void and the original stake will be returned to the customer.

In all other cases where there is an incomplete name or possible grammar error, the bet is considered valid. If the sex is not indicated, it is considered a male team.

In the case of female participants, it must be indicated as such. If it is not indicated, any bets placed on such an event will be considered void, and the original stake will be returned to the customer.

2.3.7 The date and time indicated reflects the date and time when bets will no longer be accepted, and do not necessarily coincide with the time the match is scheduled to start.

2.3.8 During the bet calculation process, the event start time is considered accurate, and is based on the official match times indicated by the official documentation of the relevant organisation and likewise the details provided by YP.

2.3.9 If the event location is not indicated, it is assumed the match will take place on the given first teams home ground. All information provided within the header of the particular kind of sport, is for information purposes only. Any mistakes in the given information does not constitute a valid reason for stake refunds.

2.3.10 An Incorrectly defined date of the event is not eligible for a stake refund.

    2.4 RELATED EVENTS & OUTCOMES

2.4.1 Multi bets and System bets do not allow the inclusion of two outcomes which relate to the same event, even if they are mutually exclusive. If a Multi bet or System bet contains two or more outcomes from the same event, the bet is considered void and the original stake will be returned to the customer, even if the YP system did not pick up on the error. YP reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether the outcomes are related to the same event or not.

2.4.2 In the case of a Multi bet or System bet, on bets involving “Team to advance to playoff round” markets, bets will only be accepted on one of the teams in the group. If a Multi bet or System bet contains such an error, the bet is considered void and the original stake will be returned to the customer, even if the YP system did not pick up on the error. YP reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether such an error has occurred.

2.5 OBVIOUS AND TECHNICAL ERRORS | OMISSIONS

2.5.1 YP aims to provide accurate data, but cannot take responsibility for any errors or omissions that may occur in relation to the announcing, publishing or marking of odds/prices, the late closing of markets, place terms, handicaps and/or runners. YP reserves the right to correct any obvious errors which may occur during the information capturing process and the calculation of the winning payout. Typical indicators of obvious errors are: very large differences in the odds supplied by YP and other betting companies, odds that do not reflect the probabilities of the match, etc. YP reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, if an error has been made or not. YP reserves the right to declare bets void, even if the event in question has been completed. After an event data correction, the bet may be considered void, and the original stake refunded.

2.5.2 THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF TECHNICAL ERRORS THAT OCCUR FREQUENTLY:

    Odds incorrectly displayed.

In the case of the odds being incorrectly displayed, i.e. if the decimal separator fails to display (eg 1.8 displays as 18), the bet will be considered void, and the original stake will be refunded to the customer.

    Reversed odds.

When the odds for the teams or players are displayed in reverse.

    Example: Instead of displaying

    Barcelona 2
    Porto 4

    the odds are displayed as

    Barcelona 4
    Porto 1.2

Since Barcelona is a clear favorite, it is obvious that the odds are reversed.

In such cases the bet will be considered void, and the original stake will be refunded to the customer.

    Home/Away indication error.

This occurs when the teams or players are displayed in reverse.

    Example: Instead of displaying

    Barcelona 1.2
    Porto 4

    the odds are displayed as

    Porto 4
    Barcelona 1.2

where the game is played on Barcelona’s home field.

In such cases the bet will be considered void, and the original stake will be refunded to the customer.

2.5.3 YP reserves the right to cancel any bets made on events with obviously incorrect odds and/or mistakes. The customer will be informed of any such errors by available means.

2.5.4 YP reserves the right to cancel bets, if the bet was won due to a technical failure and/or obvious error, even after the event has been completed.

    2.6 ON CREDIT BETTING / INTER-ACCOUNT TRANSFERS

2.6.1 YP does not accept any bets on credit, nor does it provide any credit services to its customers.

2.6.2 Participation on credit is prohibited at YP.

2.6.3 The transfer of funds between individual customer accounts is strictly prohibited.

    2.7 LATE BETS

2.7.1 Bets made after the event has already started, will be considered invalid, and will be void. The original stake will be returned to the customer. In the case of a Multi bet or System bet, the event will be removed from the list, (i.e. its odds shall be equal to 1) Any bet for which the results were already known at the time the bet was placed shall be considered invalid and will be void. The original stake will be refunded to the customer.

2.7.2 If the customer wishes to challenge the time of the event, he must provide an official document (or a link to the site of the event regulators), which confirms the actual time of the start of the match, which is the subject of the dispute.

2.7.3 In the event of a dispute, regarding the event start time, where the official regulators of the corresponding tournament/event have failed to provide such information, the information provided by YP shall be considered as the start time of the event for betting purposes.

    2.8 VOID BETS

2.8.1 If the bet is declared “void”, and settled with the new odds being equal to 1 – this implies that the original stake is returned to the customer. In the case of a Multi bet or System bet, the total odds will be recalculated with the odds of the void bet being equal to 1.

    EXAMPLE:

    Multi Bet
    Finley-Moldova Team 1 1.55
    Malta-Croatia Croatia Handicap (-2) 1.7
    Bulgaria-England Team 2 1.5
    Total odds Express = 1.55 x 1.7 x 1.5 = 3, 95

If in the above example the Malta-Croatia match is void, the new odds are calculated as follows:

    Multi Bet
    Finley-Moldova Team 1 1.55
    Malta-Croatia Croatia Handicap (-2) 1
    Bulgaria-England Team 2 1.5
    Total odds Express = 1.55 x 1 x 1.5 = 2.325

The ticket will be paid out per the newly calculated odds.

2.8.2 In regards to any “total” markets, ie goal, player cards, team cards, fouls, corners, etc., when the game total is equal to the bet total and there was no such outcome offered among the outcomes, the bet is considered void, and the stake is refunded.

2.8.3 All void bets will be handled in accordance to the BOOKMAKER OPERATIONAL RULES as published by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board. The link for which can be found here.

    2.9 MATCH FIXING

2.9.1 In the case of possible interference in the match, its result or the odds thereof, YP reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend payments for such an event or to void any bets placed on such a match. YP will inform the relevant authorities of such an occurrence in order for it to be investigated further and to prevent such an occurrence in the future.

2.9.2 YP reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend payment of bets and to declare the match void, returning the original stake to the customer, if there is good reason to believe that the match was ‘fixed’. The decision of the governing bodies and regulators of the sport will be taken into consideration. YP will inform the relevant authorities of such an occurrence in order for it to be investigated further and to prevent a repeat of such an occurrence in the future.

    2.10 NEUTRAL VENUE

2.10.1 In cases where the match is relocated to a neutral field, or stadium, all bets will stand.

2.10.2 If the location is changed to the opposing team’s home ground, the bet will be considered void, and the original stake will be returned to the customer.

2.10.3 In cases where both teams are from the same city, any changes in the events location will not be considered void, and all bets will stand.

    2.11 INTERRUPTED EVENTS

2.11.1 An event is considered interrupted, if it has not spanned the duration of the required amount of playing time, as per the regulations of the tournament, even if a final result is stated for the given event.

2.11.2 In the case of an interrupted event, unless otherwise explicitly stated in the rules pertaining to the particular sport, the bet will be considered void and the original stake will be returned to the customer. This provision is not applicable to markets where the result was already determined prior to the interruption of the match.

    2.12 POSTPONED EVENTS

2.12.1 If the starting time of an event is postponed by more than 24 (twenty four) hours, the bet will be considered void.

2.12.2 If a bet is placed on whether the team will go through to the next round, and the team’s match is postponed, the bet will stand and will be settled based on the results of the previously played matches.  If the second match did not take place or was interrupted, then all bets on this match, including any outcome for “team to go through to the next round” will be refunded.  If none of the matches took place, all bets will be refunded.

    2.13 CALCULATION OF ODDS

2.13.1 YP bases the results for events on official sources after the completion of an event. The results will be published on Information Displays where available or distributed in print. YP reserves the right to edit said results based on any discrepancies or obvious mistakes that may occur.

2.13.2 All customer inquiries about the validity of results, should only be based on the official tournament results as found on the official tournament organisers’ and bodies’ websites. Information from any other sources will not be considered as valid for the purposes of changing the posted results.

2.13.3 In cases where YP statistics (based on TV coverage) differ from third party statistics, bets will be settled according to YP’s statistics.

2.13.4 If there is more than one winner in a particular event, the minimum odds among all the winners is taken for payout calculation.

2.13.5 If the match is interrupted and is considered invalid, all bets are considered void and will be refunded, even if the result on outcomes before the interruption is known and the result at which the event was interrupted is later affirmed as final.

2.13.6 Provided that it does not contradict any specific rules applying to the individual sport in question, the result of a match is the result announced on the day of the match. Any changes to the result made by the relevant governing bodies, due to any penalizations etc, are not taken into account for the purposes of betting.

    2.14 NON-PARTICIPATION

2.14.1 Provided that it does not contradict any specific rules applying to the sport in question, if the athlete/horse/team on which the bet is placed cannot take part in the event for any reason whatsoever, the bet shall stand, except in the following cases:

    1. The event/tournament is cancelled,
    2. The event/tournament failed to take place,
    3. The venue of the event was changed,
    4. The event/tournament is interrupted, or postponed by more than 24 (twenty four) hours

2.14.2 With regard to “Who win” type bets, should one of two participants refuse to participate in the event or tournament, the bet is void and the stake shall be refunded.

    2.15 TERMINATION

2.15.1 YP shall have the right, prior to accepting any bet, temporarily to suspend or permanently to terminate, the furnishing of betting services to a customer without providing any reason.  Upon such suspension or termination –

No bet may be accepted in respect of a horse race once that race has officially started.  All bets placed on a race after the actual start will be void.

    4.1.21 Venue | Surface change

Where the venue | racing surface or race meeting is changed from that originally advertised the following will apply:

For Fixed odds betting, the race or race meeting shall be deemed to have been abandoned and any and all bets struck prior to the change shall be treated as bets on a postponed race.
For Open bets, all bets stand and are valid regardless of the change in venue or racing surface and will be subject to the result of the revised venue/racing surface.
In the event of a venue or racing surface change, Open bets may be cancelled prior to the running of the race.

    4.1.22 Postponed Races

If a race advertised to run on a specific date is postponed by more than 48 hours after the original advertised date and time all bets on that postponed race will be voided.

    4.1.23 Re-Run Races

In the event of any race being re-run:

Starting price bets shall be calculated and paid at the current price at the time the race is finally run.

“With a run” bets on any horse which started on the first occasion and which was subsequently scratched, shall be void and the deductions in terms of the table shall apply.

    Ante-post bets stand.

    4.1.24 Dead Heats

In the case of a dead heat in a match race the bet shall be calculated as such. Dead heat bets will be paid at the face value of the ticket divided by the number of competitors tying for that placing. In winning multiple event bets where two races result in dead heats, the customer shall win the odds to one quarter of the stake and lose the other three quarters, and so on, for further dead heats. Notwithstanding the provisions above, in the case of a three horse dead heat in multiple event bets, where one race results in a triple dead heat, the customer shall lose two thirds of the stake and the entire bet is recalculated as a result of the event where the dead heat occurred. The dead heat rule may apply in other sporting codes with the same application described above.
